A cool pair of 1920s Egyptian Revival plaster candlesticks. Each modeled as an identical Egyptian sphinx. They may have been originally bookends. Both have been fitted with feather-form bobeches, to hold tapered candles.
Each base measures 7 3/4” Length x 2 1/2” base
Total height is 6 3/4” Tall
Condition: Both have a rubbed metallic gold luster, over black patina. One in particular has some patina missing specifically on the edge of his nose and headdress. The edges of the rectangular bases have lost some patina. One base has the edge chipped off.
